THE DANCER'S AUDITION GUIDE
THE DANCERS AUDITION GUIDE

Do you ever ask yourself…
  • How can I build my confidence to improve my auditions?
  • What are some secrets to catching a choreographer or directors attention?
  • Do I know what my audition strengths and weaknesses are, and how do I turn my weaknesses in to strengths?
  • If I don’t sing, can I still pursue a career in Musical Theatre?
We all know that auditions can create stress and can sometimes be uncomfortable. Auditioning is a skill, and successful artists study audition technique just as they practice their dance or vocal technique. Christopher Freer  (Clear Talent Group) and Nikole Vallins (Binder Casting) have cast and represented dancers in such shows as Wicked, Little Mermaid, Spamalot and A Chorus Line, as well as dozens of commercials, music videos and feature films. They know what the people on the other side of the table are looking for and will give you all of the tools to effectively present yourself.

Your seminar will begin with a simulated dance audition (dance combination will be taught by Rachel Bress, Associate Choreographer of “9 to 5”). You will then participate in a group vocalization and have the option to sing your 16-bar audition song.   A picture and resume consultation will follow with a re-cap of the day and a Q&A session with Christopher and Nikole.

Spend the day getting to know two very influential and well-respected people in the industry, and profit from their experience and expertise. If you are serious about booking the jobs you audition for, this day is a must!

Please bring: jazz shoes, character shoes, your audition book (if you have one), headshot and resume, appropriate dance and singing audition attire.
