PARKER ESSE recently choreographed the critically acclaimed Oklahoma! for the Inaugural Production and Grand Re-opening of Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater in Washington, DC, where he was just honored with a Helen Hayes Award for Best Choreography for the 2010/2011 Season. He also choreographed the World Premier of Katie Couric's The Brand New Kid at The Kennedy Center, as well as The Mystery Of Irma Vep, The Light in the Piazza, and the World Premier of A Christmas Carol 1941 for Arena Stage. Mr. Esse recently served as Associate Choreographer for the critically acclaimed production of Follies at The Kennedy Center. He also finished remounting Oklahoma! at Arena Stage for an unprecedented Summer 2011 Revival of their smash hit. Mr. Esse just choreographed The Buddy Holly Story for Flat Rock Playhouse and will now be Associate Choreographer on the Off-Broadway production Rated P for Parenthood at the Westside Theater. He is currently choreographing The Music Man for Arena Stage's Spring2012 production and Carousel for Goodspeedʼs Summer 2012 production to be taped and archived for the New York Public Library of Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. Mr. Esse was Associate Choreographer on the Broadway production and Tony Nominated - Finian's Rainbow and A Tale Of Two Cities as well as the National Tour 101 Dalmatians The Musical. Mr. Esse was Associate Director/Choreographer for the World Premier of Lucky Guy at Goodspeed Opera House and Associate/Assistant Choreographer for several productions of New York City Center's, Encores! Series: Stairway To Paradise, Juno, On The Town, Finian's Rainbow and Girl Crazy. Assistant Choreographer for Mame at The Kennedy Center; Dancing In The Dark at The Old Globe; Pirates of Penzance at Goodspeed Opera House; Pirates! at Paper Mill Playhouse; Mack And Mabel at the Shaw Festival Canada; Babes And Arms at Goodspeed Opera House; South Pacific, Camelot, Damn Yankees, at Arena Stage. Mr. Esse was Assistant Choreographer for the International Cell Phone commercial Auna/Amena and the Feature Film Deception starring Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor. As a performer: Broadway's Tony Award winning Fosse, taped for PBS's Great Performances. After closing Fosse on Broadway, Parker joined the National Tour. Regionally: A Chorus Line at Paper Mill Playhouse and TUTS; Will Rogers Follies at Sacramento Music Circus; Swing! at North Shore Music Theatre, Marriott Lincolnshire Theatre and TUTS; South Pacific, Camelot, Damn Yankees, at Arena Stage; The Public Theatre's 50th Anniversary at New York City Center; 21st Annual Benefit Gala "So In Love: A Night of Romance at the Rainbow Room" for the Drama League in NY. Mr. Esse loves teaching and has given Master Classes in Musical Theatre and Dance for the past 15 years and has been on faculty at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. He is also Co-Creator/Developer of Arena Stage's Musical Theater Academy where he serves as Resident Choreographer and Dance Teacher for the International Program. He has also taught classes for the 2010 and 2011 Music Direction Intensive at Goodspeed Opera House; The Marktoberdorf Summer Intensive Workshop for Professional European Actors in Marktoberdorf, Germany; Lamar University College of Fine Arts' Dance Department in Beaumont, TX; Catholic University's Department of Drama in Washington, DC; American University's Musical Theater in Washington, DC; The Timothy M. Draper Center for Dance Education in Rochester, NY; The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, TX; The award winning Met 2 Educational Theater in Los Angeles, CA; Learning on Location in NYC; The
