Helen Bechdel: Alison s mother. Christian Bechdel: Alison s brother, around ten years old. John Bechdel: Alison s brother, around six years old. Roy/Mark/Pete Joan: a college student. ______________ “Every Brilliant Thing” All roles have been cast. __________ “Majada” Soldier: 20s, any ethnicity. Able to handle combat choreography. All other roles cast. ____________ “Winter Song And A Christmas Memory” All roles have been cast. _____________ “Twist Your Dickens” George Bailey/Fred/Ghost Of Marley: male in his 30 s, any ethnicity, must have experience with improve and character differentiation. All other roles cast. ___________ “Astoria: Parts One And Two” Based on Astoria: John Jacob Astor and Thomas Jefferson's Lost Pacific Empire, A Story of Wealth, Ambition, and Survival by Peter Stark. All roles cast. ___________ “Kodachrome” 1. The Photographer: mid to late 30s. An openness and welcoming kind of spirit. The ability to carry the show. facility with language. like a lot of language. A crazy charisma. but also, just like us. 2. The Hardware Store Owner, Policeman: mid to late 30s. The Hardware Store Owner is kind of a normal person and the policeman is kind of a hottie (same thing with Librarian/Waitress) I think with Hardware Store Owner and Librarian, it's like they are living slow uneventful lives and this love possibility is like a whole big scary exciting thing so it's about the daily normal things and the spark of love that can change everything. Also for both of them they used to be the most beautiful when they were like 18 but 20 years have passed and now they are their jobs. They are kind. They are good. They were never mean people. 3. The Gravedigger, Young Man: mid to late 20s, but has to be believable as the gravedigger both as Photographer's contemporary and as mildly autistic. As the young man, has to fresh faced and innocent, hopeful, a little naive. Sweetness necessary in both roles. 4. The Librarian, Waitress, Friend: mid to late 30s. see Hardware Store Owner above. 5. Perfume Maker, History Professor, Emt 1: Mid to late 40s. The Perfume Maker is a shy hermit singularly focused and probably pretty weird. Mad scientist archetype. The History Professor is used to lecturing in front of people. he has a presence. Both of them are brainy and detached but in very different ways. 6. The Mystery Novelist, The Florist, Emt 2: mid to late 40s. The Florist is emotional while The Mystery Novelist is matter of fact. I think the contrast between those two characters can be fun. Longing with great expression and longing with muted expression. 7. The Young Woman, Marjorie: mid to late 20s. The Young Woman is the ingenue in theory looking for the happily ever after and then discovering it's not what she wants right now. She would be like Snow White or something. That kind of archetype. Marjorie is a little bit melodramatic in a concentric way. ___________ “The Magic Play” All roles cast. __________ “Major Barbara” Actor 1: Lady Britomart/Mrs. Baines/Rummy: mid to late 40s. Actor 2: Stephen/Snobby Price: 20s. Actor 3: Morrison/Peter Shirley/Bilton: 45. Actor 4: Sarah/Jenny: 20s. Actor 5: Barbara: late 20s, early 30s. Actor 6: Lomax/Bill Walker: 20s or early 30s. Actor 7: Adolphus Cusins: early 30s. Actor 8: Undershaft: early 60s. ___________ “And So We Walked” All roles cast. ______________ “Lady Day At Emerson’s Bar And Grill” All roles cast.
