Seeking:Danny Solis: Male, 22. Latinx. Views himself as loyal to those who are loyal to him. He is headstrong and confident in his musical abilities. While Danny isn't always aware of what he doesn't know, he does recognize when to accept help. On the outside, he's a tough and sometimes gritty appearing kid who's always got a comeback, but on the inside, he's as vulnerable as anyone. Informed by events in his past, Danny realizes that despite his best efforts, his dreams may not come true, which scares him, because if this music thing doesn't happen, he doesn't have a backup plan. Actors who play instruments, especially piano are strongly encouraged to submit. Felicia Solis: Female, early 30s. Latinx. Danny's sister. She's an ER nurse married with kids. Felicia is a caregiver to everyone she knows, including her and Danny's mother, who relies on her emotionally. Felicia sees herself as the glue of the Solis family, which is seemingly a shambles. Felicia doesn't take care of herself because she's busy taking care of everyone else. Kari: Female, 22. Any race/ethnicity. She's an Ivy League dropout from a privileged situation. She lives her life in a way in which her parents clearly disapprove, and while she is currently living in one of the buildings her father owns, she is for all intensive purposes, ostracized. She's very smart and sharp, and while her defense mechanism is to repel people by showing off her intelligence, she is in search of people she can claim as "family." Ryan Reed: Female, 24. White. Pop star. She is originally from Oklahoma, but has assumed the image of being more gritty and edgy. Her music is a blend of punk and pop with a slight tone of Katy Perry. She's worked so hard to get where she is that she's lost her sense of self outside the image her record company has worked to build. She's not just looking for fame and success, but also for her place in the world. Actors who play instruments, especially guitar are strongly encouraged to submit. Jake Colburn: Male, 50s. White. Music manager for Ryan. He's pretty much an upper echelon handler hired by record labels to keep young stars under control and also on message. Jake is, above all, a professional, but he does also care for Ryan and has what he sees as her best interests in mind at all times. He's the kind of guy who isn't going to break your knee caps, but he knows the guys to call to do that. Tommy Solis: Male, late 40s to early 50s. Latinx. Danny and Felicia's dad. Very charismatic and charming. He himself is a musician and taught Danny everything he knows. Tommy harbors a deep sense of anger and resentment toward the music industry for wronging him. Though not a weak person, he sees himself as a victim. Actors who play instruments are strongly encouraged to submit.

Seeking:“Oklahoma” (Rehearsals begin May 21; runs June 5-16) Curly: A confident, affable cowboy personality, he is highly charismatic. A strong ego and, at times too sure of himself, his stubborn streak sometimes stands in the way of letting Laurey know his true feelings for her. However, he drops his defenses and rushes to her aid when she is in need. Legit Baritone. Laurey: A strong, spunky farm girl. Aunt Eller’s independent and intelligent niece. Impetuous at times, she is generally sensible and deep thinking. She is likeable, attractive and romantic at heart. Unlike some of her friends, she doesn’t feel the need for a man to take care of her. She is too headstrong to let on about her feelings for Curly. When she is threatened by Jud Fry, she turns to Curly for comfort. Soprano. Aunt Eller: A sturdy frontier woman who manages to make a life for herself and her niece Laurey on their farm. She plays the peacemaker between the conflicting cowboys and farmers. She has a big heart, but is tough when the situation calls for it. A respected community leader and communal mother-figure, she is comical, loveable, but no-nonsense. Mezzo. Will Parker: A simple and good natured young cowboy, with a knack for roping a cow. In love with Ado Annie, whom her father says he could marry if he ever had $50.00 to his name. However, in his efforts to woo her, Will keeps spending his money on gifts and dates for her. He is lovable, foolish, and impulsive. He is a little slow on the uptake, but possesses an infectious charm and a high-spirited energy that makes him a friend to all. Once he saves the money to ask for Ado Annie’s hand in marriage, he issues her an ultimatum to stop her flirting with other men. Strong dancer. Tenor. Jus Fry: A hired hand on Aunt Eller’s ranch. A mysterious and dangerous loner. He has his eye on Laurey, but has become dangerously obsessed. Used to living in isolation and not interacting with people, he lacks basic social skills. He has a volatile nature, which frightens Laurey. Although he acts as the villain of the story, he has an underlying emotional complexity that makes him a sympathetic character. Bass/Baritone. Ado Annie: A boy-crazy farm girl. She has only recently matured physically from being “flat as a beanpole”. She is naive and has not learned to handle the sudden attention from the local males. She can’t say no to the advances, and even admits that “kissin’s her favorite food”. Indecisive and comically simple, she has strong feelings for Will Parker but is easily distracted by any man who “talks pretty” to her. Mezzo-Soprano. Strong belt. Ali Hakim: A clever Persian peddler who has become involved with Ado Annie, he is part traveling salesman, part con-man and is eager to sell and eager to escape. A self-proclaimed Casanova, when he becomes too entangled with a girl, he simply packs up and moves on to the next town. However, when he mistakenly makes a pass at Ado Annie in front of her father, it is taken as a marriage proposal. He bargains with Will Parker so he can escape the ball and chain of marriage. Must be a strong comic actor with a convincing accent. Baritone. Gertie Cummings: A local flirtatious farm girl, who is in love with Curly. Possesses the most obnoxious laugh in the territory, and is generally too full of herself to realize how annoying she is to the people around her. Andrew Carnes: Ado Annie’s father. A farmer as well as the local judge. Doesn’t initially take Will Parker seriously as a prospective husband for Ado Annie, and tells Will that he can only marry her when he has saved up $50.00. Quick to defend his naive daughter’s honor, he intervenes when Ali Hakim makes a pass at her, pressuring him at gunpoint to be an honest man and marry her. His sharp tongue combined with his shotgun, make for good comic relief. Baritone. __________________ “Freaky Friday” Katherine: 40’s – a single mother who runs her own catering business.
