Seeking:"La Cage aux Folles" GEORGE– 40s-60s, Baritone, a charismatic and kind man married to Albin, owner of the nightclub. ALBIN– 40s-60s, Bari-Tenor, becomes the fabulous Zsa Zsa onstage at the nightclub La Cage aux Folles. Fabulous drag performer with heart and a grand theatricality. JEAN MICHEAL– Early 20s, Tenor, George’s son. Funny and headstrong, but slightly uncomfortable with George and Albin’s life. ANN– (CAST) Early 20s, Soprano, Jean Michael’s lady love. Must sing and dance well. Lovely and innocent. MR. DINDON/ MR. RENAUD– 40s-60s, Baritone, Ann’s uptight conservative father. Mr. Renaud is the kindly owner of the seaside cafe. MRS. DINDON/ MRS. RENAUD- (CAST) 40s-60s, Ann’s mother. Starts out uptight and conservative, but softens and changes dramatically by the end of the show. Mrs. Renaud is the kindly owner of the seaside cafe. SOPHIE- (CAST) 18-25, Pop Soprano, A very special young woman who is determined to find the romance and happiness she feels eluded her mother. Has a wild, zany spirit even though she pursues a conventional marriage. TANYA- late 30s-early 40s, A former singer in the “Dynamos”. Rich, sophisticated, acerbic, funny, and witty. ROSIE- late 30s-early 40s, Also a former singer in the “Dynamos” who now writes for and runs a feminist press. She’s confident, strong, and funny on the outside but shy underneath. Kooky and fun, good comic actress, bit of a clown. Actress who sings. LISA- (CAST) 18-25, Sophie’s friend who arrives to be a bridesmaid. Very energetic and kooky. Should be African-American, Hispanic-American, Asian-American, Native American or any non-Caucasian young woman. Should sing and dance well. ALI- (CAST) 18-25, Sophie’s friend. Impulsive and fun. LEWIS/ ENSEMBLE-(CAST) male or female, early 20s-early 30s, The son of Charlemagne and Fastrada, Pippin’s half brother. He is a soldier in Charlemagne's army and he prides himself on his athleticism and physical prowess. Arrogant and self centered, dancer. CATHERINE/ ENSEMBLE-(CAST), this role has been cast- late 20s-early 30s, mezzo with strong mix or belt. Pippin’s love interest, a tragically widowed farmer’s wife with a young son. She rebels against the Leading Player's scheme by actually falling in love with Pippin. She is kind, generous, romantic, and strong-willed. THEO- (CAST) to play 8-14 years old. Catherine’s rebellious son who soon develops a loving relationship with Pippin. Singing is required. THE PLAYERS- (CAST) 4 excellent dancer-singers with sensuality and versatility. "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" HEDWIG- 20s-40s, male or transgender female, Rock Tenor, “internationally ignored” Transgender German rocker giving the concert of her life, an incredible performer with undeniable presence,humor, and acting chops. YITZAK- 20s-40s, female or transgender male, Belter, Hedwig’s husband and reluctant sidekick. Bitter and angry, but has his moment in the spotlight and blows the audience away.

A beekeeper who sells honey to the locals in Tiberon, South Carolina. Stoic and Warm. A caretaker and a strong independent-minded business woman. The middle of the 3 Boatwright sisters. Stern and somewhat salty and sarcastic- doesn’t have time for nonsense or annoyances. Has a seemingly sharp tongue, but comes from a place of being protective of her sisters and their home. She’s pursued by Neil relentlessly, and always denies him, but her sisters know that she enjoys it. Role has been offered and accepted. [May Boatright]: Female, 30s-40s. African-American. The youngest of theBoatwright sisters. Overwhelmed with melancholy about her ever since her twin sister, April, died. Quiet, reserved, but has a warmth about her. Role has been offered. [T Ray Owens]: (role cast) Male, 40s, Caucasian. Lily’s father. Emotionally volatile, deeply strict—can blow up quickly. Angry with Lily for running away but still, deep down, he blames Lily for his wife’s death. Role hasbeen offered and accepted. [Neil]: Male, 30s-40s, African American. The principal of the local school who attempts to court May on a near daily basis, only to be rejected. Persistent, good-hearted, handsome, and awkwardly funny. Begins a friendship, including some flirting, with Lily when she arrives at the Boatwright house.
