Seeking:CABARET- Breakdown SALLY BOWLES- (25-35) young British nightclub singer in Germany on the eve of World War II. Bravado, wildness and eccentricity mask her extreme vulnerability. She is sensual, provocative, and deeply appealing. Must move well and be a terrific actress with a strong, gutsy belt.  EMCEE- (25-50) the host/master of ceremonies at the Kit Kat Klub--presented as a gender-fluid character comfortable with being close to both men and women; comedic, lovable; requires agile stage movement and dance; age range and appearance flexible, speaks with a German accent.  CLIFFORD BRADSHAW- (25-39) an American novelist and English teacher traveling to Berlin; presented as a closeted gay man exploring his sexuality; comfortable with stage movement and light dance; speaks with an American accent. FRAULEIN SCHNEIDER- (50+) a landlady who rents rooms in her large flat; comfortable with stage movement and light dance; speaks with a German accent. Vocal range: low D to Ab above middle C, alto.  HERR SCHULTZ- (50+) one of Fraulein Schneider’s roomers and the proprietor of a fruit shop; comfortable with stage movement and light dance; speaks with a German accent. Vocal range: low G to high F, tenor.  ERNST LUDWIG- (30-55) a friendly, likable German, takes English lessons from Cliff, and smuggles funds for the Nazi party; comfortable with stage movement and light dance; age range is flexible, speaks with a German accent. Vocal range flexible. FRAULEIN KOST- (30-49) another of Fraulein Schneider’s roomers, she earns money by offering favors to sailors, presentation of the character should exhibit a strong sexual comfort and commanding nature; comfortable with stage movement; speaks with a German accent. Vocal range: low A flat to high F, alto/mezzo.  KIT KAT KLUB GIRLS-(20-39) Kit Kat Club performers and various featured roles; seeking strong singers; also part of various scenes as performers and as club patrons; features (“Two Ladies,” “Telephone Dance,” etc.) will be drawn from this group; excellent dance skills required. MALE DANCE ENSEMBLE-Kit Kat Klub waiters and patrons; seeking strong singers; excellent dance skills required. We strongly encourage actors of all genders, races and ethnicities. THE PRODUCERS- Breakdown MAX BIALYSTOCK-(40-50) described as selfish and greedy - a man who is only interested in making money. Though this is later proven untrue, Max's fiery and sarcastic nature can be very intimidating. He is willing to do anything to make money (including "shtupping every little old lady in New York") and is often angry, short-tempered and unwilling to cooperate nicely. Plays nice when he needs to. Comedy a must; tenor. LEO BLOOM- (28-39) a mousey, nervous and fearful accountant, prone to panic attacks and who keeps a security blanket to calm himself. Nevertheless it is Leo who has the idea of how to make money from a failed play. Great physical comedy a must; tenor. ULLA- (22-36) Ulla Inga Hansen Benson Yonsen Tallen-Hallen Svaden, a stereotypical Swedish woman: tall and beautiful. Great singer (belt) and dancer. Comedic with timing and delivery. FRANZ LIEBKIND- (39-50) a former Nazi who has penned an admiring musical tribute to Adolf Hitler, titled Springtime for Hitler. He is a slightly off kilter and can go from happy to angry rather quickly. Comedy skills needed, baritone. ROGER DE BRIS- (45-60) a gay theatre director, described by Max Bialystock as the worst director to have ever lived. He lives with his equally flamboyant partner Carmen Ghia and his production crew in a house described as an Upper East Side town house in New York. Man in a dress. Comedy skills needed; baritone. CARMEN GHIA (21-35) Roger De Bris' "common-law assistant". They are both gay and they love to flounce around their Upper East Side town house. Hugely comedic; tenor. MR. MARKS-Chorus/Ensemble (30-40) cameo is the CPA of Whitehall and Marks, Leo Bloom’s employer. He exults in demeaning the Pa’s under his draconian rule, especially those who show signs of self-esteem. CHARACTER MAN #1-Chorus/Ensemble (29-45) plays various characters. Should have huge comedic chops for cameo features. Should move well and have a strong singing voice. Between 5'10"-6'. CHARACTER MAN #2- Chorus/Ensemble (29-45) plays various characters. Should have comedic chops for features and should move and sing well. Between 5'10"-6'. CHARACTER MAN #3-Chorus/Ensemble (18+) plays various characters a colgate smile. Should be the epitome of the aryan race. Between 5'10"-6'. Lead tenor; beautiful pure voice. CHARACTER WOMAN #1- Chorus/Ensemble (29-45) plays the cameo Hold Me Touch Me-convincing old lady, but should be able to play other various characters. Should move and sing well; between 5’6” and 5’8”. CHARACTER WOMAN #2- Chorus/Ensemble (29-45) opens the show as an Usherette so should sing very will. She also is featured as other characters and is a featured dancer in springtime. Must be an all around good performer; between 5’6” and 5’8”. CHARACTER WOMAN #3- Chorus/Ensemble (29-45) plays all comedic cameo features including reject showgirl and Shirley Markowitz. Must sing and move very well, between 5’6” and 5’8”. MALE DANCERS- Chorus/Ensemble (18-40) between 5’10” and 6’2”-Should be able to sing well and dance extremely well as they play multiple characters that make up the gay team, little old ladies, opening nighters, and theatre staff. Comedy a plus. FEMALE DANCERS-Chorus/Ensemble (18-35) 5’6” or taller -Should be able to sing well and dance extremely well as they play multiple characters such as opening nighters, little old ladies, and various theatre staff.
